Since Heinz Stickl, pioneer of the surfing scene and surfing world champion, founded Italy`s first surfing school in Malcesine in 1976, the Stickl sports camp has established an excellent reputation.

Originally a surfing school, it has been transformed into a sports camp. It is now the largest surfing and sailing school on Lake Garda, Europe’s largest VDWS Hobie Cat Centre and the first kite surfing school on Lake Garda , with high standard instruction and first class rental equipment for all sports.
Val di Sogno Bay, where the sports camp is located, is the ideal spot for a water sports paradise. In the sheltered bay beginners can practice, whereas further offshore, professionals can enjoy the “Ora” and “Vento”, the well-known and reliable Lake Garda winds.

Kids will particularly enjoy the kids camp, and will be given an introduction to sailing and surfing with Opti sailing, with the kid’s Cat and the surfboard with sails. The highlights are special programs and great value for money packages for the whole family. 

a successful concept

One of the reasons why we are so successful is our clear concept that we have been sticking to for the past 30 years. We are not an animation club, but a sports camp, using first class material for windsurfing and kite surfing, sailing, catamaran sailing and mountain biking. Our focus is on intensive sports training as well as individually designed services, all in a relaxed atmosphere. Those who want to do activities on their own are of course welcome to hire boards, catamarans, dinghies and bikes. 

In addition to the standard program with classes and rental offers, you will find plenty of interesting specials, special deals and bargains. Training with world champions, incentive programs for companies; workshops held by well-known training institutes, and events are available. In co-operation with the Olivi Tennis Hotel, we will also offer tennis classes, and only 300m away from the water station is the Athos Diving School .

Our 2008 program offers all that is required of a sports holiday, including accommodation in the „Villa Orizzonte“ sports hotel owned by us. It is the centre of all activities, just a few metres away from the shore, with a sports office, showers and changing rooms, garage, bike repair, training room and a party tent for evening events. At the pool, with pool bar, in the middle of 16,000 square metres of wild garden, hotel guests as well as sport guests from other hotels will meet for the “Après”, enjoying the Happy Hour with cool drinks and lively music. 

Apart from staying at the sports hotel, Stickl guests can choose from a selection of affiliated hotels to suit all budgets, that can be booked directly via our website.
