Lake Garda-top spot for kitesurfers!
We are certainly aware that there are very few shore areas on the lake. Does that mean we are ill-advised to promote this sport on Lake Garda?
In our opinion, it is the right place, because a proper kitesurfing area consists of two components:
Firstly, winds and secondly the beaches!
As regards wind, not much needs to be said. It is difficult to find an area that offers more reliable wind conditions!
The most beautiful beach won’t be of use to you if the wind lets you down!
At the lake, kitesurfing is possible nearly every day.
And our boat instruction method will offer many benefits:
From day one, students will do on-water kite handling for several hours.
With an instructor boat nearby, they drift leewards practicing launching.
Students are continuously supervised by a kiteboarding instructor who communicates via radio. Participants will make their way back windward on the boat, which is comfortable and fast–forget about endless walks along the shore!
The risk of accidents is practically non-existent! In many schools flying exercises ashore have resulted in accidents. In our team, by contrast, we pride ourselves of 5 years practical experience without any injuries.

The kite school and all services
Our kitesurfing school has evolved from our sports camp activities with 30 years of experience in surfing, sailing and Cat sailing. Thus, it is based on a strong background of experience and routine as well as an existing infrastructure.

The class participants and the team of instructors get together at the pool bar for a welcome drink.
The preliminary training and the preparation for the written exam take place in the hotel premises or in the training room/party tent.
After the practical „session“ guests will look forward to a hot shower and a comfortable changing room. Depending on the temperature outside, they can then go for a “warm up” with a cappuccino or latte macchiato–or alternatively have a cool drink at the pool bar.
Mixing with many class participants, surfers, sailors and mountain bikers, guests can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of a sport hotel with evening events, such as pasta parties or barbecues.
You will have realised by now that we offer much more than a website and a mobile phone number, unlike some „illegal“ establishments on Lake Garda, who haven’t got a proper location, licences and therefore no insurance cover.
The sucessfull teaching concept
KITE CAMP 2007 : More than just a class.In 2006 we expanded our program. With the KITE CAMP week, we are now able to offer you even more options than in our previous program.
The week program includes 4 complete days with classes from 10:00 am to noon and approx. 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
The participants will split into 2 groups:
1. Kitesurfing beginners and students with some experience, for example from a previous taster course.
2. Advanced kitesurfers with skills equivalent to VDWS level 2
The morning unit covers important aspects such as:
- Theory lessons for the VDWS kiting licence, materials and information on kites
- Boards. Security systems and all issues related to kiting materials.
- Preliminary exercises and launches at the launch simulator.
- Launching exercises at the kite boat racks without kite, preparing for the water launch.
- Kitesurfing exam preparation checking materials and preparation for on-water training.
The afternoon program will start around 1:00 pm, depending on wind conditions.
The kite boat departs for on-water training, selecting the best spot depending on wind conditions. Snack and drinks are available on-board. Groups consist of a maximum of 5 participants. In case there are more than 5 people, a second boat with a second instructor will be provided.
All kitesurfing students will be equipped with waterproof headsets and will receive instructions via radio. We will return from the water around 6:00 pm.
There is the option to extend the camp program on Friday by an extra kitesurfing day, or to do free supervised kiting. Enjoy the experience that your intensive training has been bearing fruit.
This kitesurfing day with rental equipment and boat shuttle is available at only €40!!
On Friday evening, when all Sportcamp classes come together for a final evening event with barbecue, participants will be presented their kitesurfing licences. In a week participants will reach level 2 of the VDWS kitesurfing licence.
RADIO TRAINING SYSTEM
Since 2002 we have been using waterproof headsets and, after some periods without further developments, we have now settled for the perfect solution for instruction via radio. Headsets integrated in the kiting helmet with the option to communicate with each student individually via a separate channel enable the instructor to give clearly articulated instructions also from longer distances, exactly at the right moment. This will lead to fast progress, and participants will feel secure.
lessons and classes
This 4-day camp for beginners takes participants to VDWS kitesurfing level 3–water launching and first rides, relaunch.
Once they have finished this week, participants will be equipped with all the necessary skills to do further kitesurfing practices on their own. In the first two days students will learn about materials, assembling and security. They will also do their first practice at the water, flying practices in the water, winding up and letting go the flying line, flying practice in the water, with and without trapeze, body drag, power body drag and kite water launches. Operating the foot leash, launching flight practice and launching into both directions. Participants will then have reached kitesurfing level 3. Exam fees amount to an extra €22. Participants will also acquire essential knowledge about kiting materials, maintenance and repair.
Kitesurfing advanced class
If required, participants of group 2, the kitesurfing F camp, will partly revise the contents of the first class in a short revision unit. Afterwards, the focus is on water training. Riding technique, staying upwind, tacking, transitions, jibing and an introduction to jumping techniques. There are no limits to those who aim high!
WEEKEND TEASER COURSE:
The weekend class starts on Saturday at 9:00 am. The program consists of approximately 10-12 hours approximately, whth theory and practice, which stretches over two days. After an introductory unit covering assembling, basic information on kitesurfing technique and security, the group will set off for their first flying practices at the water with training kites. Again, we will use radio technique for quick progress. We offer weekend classes for beginners and advanced students. The course will be completed with a VDWS kitesurfing licence level 2-3 or, in the F class, 3-5. Examination fees amount to €22.
Kite Shuttle Service
Those who recklessly launch on the shore, next to the lakeside road, do not only put at risk their own safety, but also the safety of swimmers as well as the traffic on the lakeside of the Gardesana!
If you have no in-depth insight into the area and wind conditions, you will risk floating for hours in cold water, caught in dead calm, or even find yourself in a harbour entrance!
If you are not experienced enough to stay upwind, you will soon be confronted with the problem of finding a place where you can go on shore–there are very few suitable areas!
Currently, those who want to do kitesurfing on their own after completing a kitesurfing class have few opportunities on Lake Garda.
This has inspired us to offer a KITESURFING SHUTTLE SERVICE.
And that’s how it works:
Requirements: VDWS kitesurfing level 3-4 or kitesurfing skills equivalent to that level, that is, launching, broad reach, relaunch!
We offer the service twice a day:.
Scheduled time 1, with participants meeting at 7:30 am and
Scheduled time 2, with participants meeting at 12:30 pm.
Each tour takes about 3-4 hours. Latest bookings are accepted the afternoon prior to the kitesurfing day. Signing in, briefing and, if required, collecting rental equipment. Meeting after SMS notification by the kitesurfing service person at 7:00 am. Groups can also exclusively book the kitesurfing shuttle boat for a particular date. The service boat launches all the kites and supervises the group, supports relaunchs, and helps in case there is a problem at the water. If it becomes apparent that a participant is not sufficiently qualified, the boat will take him immediately out of the water. The group will kitesurf in the respective kitesurfung area up to the moment when they are required to return to the meeting point. Then the kite boat will collect the group and take them back to the station. Groups of at least 4 people are required.
